Social media can be a little too much to handle sometimes, especially if you suffer from anxiety. Even though social media can take a toll on your mental health sometimes, it is still a way to connect to all your family members and friends. Hence, at some point, you’re bound to reactivate your account to catch up on what you’ve missed. But to do this, you need internet access. Don’t have it? Well, this would be a good time to look for one now. Check ISP websites and their faq sections for questions like, how much Spectrum internet speeds and prices?  Choose one that best suits your budget.

The lives of people portrayed on social sites are just one happy chunk of their entire day, year, or month. However, the harsh realities of everyone’s lives are rarely shared. Due to this, some people tend to become a victim of inferiority complexes. You would have felt that way at some point too. But you need to be mentally strong enough to not let these distractions affect you. Hence, when you’re finally ready, you can reactivate your Instagram account and socialize again.

Here are a few quick steps to get you back in the social media game.

    Check Duration of Deactivation

Once you have deactivated your account, you need to wait for Instagram to finish the process. For a certain time period, you have to wait until you can reactivate it. Typically, it takes about 24 hours. However, if you’ve accidentally chosen the ‘delete account’ option at the time of deactivation, you won’t be able to recover your account again.

    Open Your Instagram App

If you already use Instagram, by now you’d be familiar with what the logo looks like. Tap the app that shows a warm-colored gradient background with a white camera outline on it. Make sure you use your mobile device instead of a desktop. This is so because most of Instagram’s functions, especially those related to reactivating, are not compatible with desktops.

    Log Into Your Account

Your account might have been deactivated for quite some time but you need to log back in the same way you used to when it was active. Start by entering either your username, phone number, or email address. You have to make sure that the information you enter matches that of the deactivated account.

    Enter the Password

After entering the username, fill in your password in its designated space. In case you forget the password, you can reset it in a few simple steps. Click the ‘forgot password link and enter the username or email you used to create the account. Consequently, you will receive an email with the necessary actions to reset your password. After following those steps, you can re-enter your new password and head on to the next step.

    Click the Login Button

Move the cursor to the blue button that says ‘Log In’. After verifying the credentials associated with your Instagram account, you will be relocated to the next page.

    Follow the On-Screen Directions

After pressing the log-in button, you will be prompted to a page with a set of instructions. These instructions will guide you through the finishing steps to reactivate your account. The steps vary according to the time span your account has remained deactivated. In some cases, you might have to accept a new ‘Terms of Use form as it might have been updated. Moreover, the page might even require you to verify your phone number.

    Conclusion

There could be various reasons for you to deactivate your Instagram account. Some do take a break from social media, while others decide to register themselves for a new account. Whatever the reason might be, you can always recover your account in a few simple steps. As long as you make sure to deactivate it and not delete it, you do not need to worry about its recovery. The numerous conversations shared pictures, and connections with friends and family, can all be restored before you know it. So, whenever you decide you’ve had enough of a social detox, you can follow these steps and join in again.
